Roller Derby Romance

"You came," breathed Allison Wonderland. She wasn't sure if she was out of breath because she had just finished the most rigorous rinkside match of her life, or if it was the sight of Roxanne standing in front of her.

"Of course I did," Roxie replied. "You didn't think I'd miss your big match, did you?" Roxie felt a bit winded herself. The sight of the bruised, sweaty, and blood-spattered Allison gave her a certain tingly feeling.

Allison pulled her helmet off, letting her sweaty, electric blue curls tumble out across her shoulders. "I thought you'd be halfway to Frisco by now."

"Oh, Allie!" cried Roxanne. "I tried, but as I drove off through the desert in my powder blue 1958 Chevy Convertible, I could only... I could only think of what I was leaving behind." She ran up to Allison, buried in fingers in the front of her sweaty tank top, and pulled her close. "Allie, I love you!" And she leaned in for a kiss, her cherry red lips trembling.

Allison stopped her with an upraised finger to her lips. Roxie's heart fell. Not only had she wasted four hours and $50 in gas coming back, but she hadn't even gotten the girl! She should have just kept going, and not looked behind her.

Allison turned her head to the side, and spit a big mouthful of blood onto the rink. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. "There," she grinned. "Now I'm ready."

Roxanne's heart, so low just moments before, now flew like a bird as Allie grabbed her tight, tipped her back, and planted on her the hottest kiss of her life.

"Well," said Roxie. And that was all she could think of to say. The rest, needed no words.

I just had this little story in my head. Your typical cheesy, pulpy romance story, set in a roller rink, between a rockabilly princess and a roller derby queen.
