You may have been one of the few lucky ones to see this a month and a half ago when it was up for a couple hours before I realized that, d'oh, I wasn't allowed to post it until the magazine it was for came out.
This was for Crossed Genres' February issue. (This is the back cover. The front cover is here.) The theme was love, and also sci-fi and fantasy. So I wanted to show all the many variations love can take. In this instance, being a gay couple is relatively normal compared to other couplings. Let's see what we've got. Human princess and a human pirate. A knight of unknown species and a Cthulu-like creature A werewolf and a femmebot/ android A human girl and a reptilian alien boy A human girl and a vampire boy An alien girl and a fawn A satyr and a jet girl An angel girl and an eye-on-a-stalk alien girl A pixie girl and human boy A two-headed alien man, with a human girl and an alien boy (bisexual polyamorous interspecies love FTW!) A furry bigfoot kind of guy and a human girl A human boy and a girl with butterfly wings A robot and a mermaid An elf girl and a space girl A human boy and human girl My hand hurt so bad after drawing this. I went traditional ink on illustration board, since my computer was getting fixed. I toned it at work.
